Child development

In order for a child to grow into a mature and responsible individual, the development of different domains is important: physical, cognitive or mental, social and emotional, and spiritual. It is through a combined and balanced development of these four domains that a child comes to full development. These four interrelated domains of child development are reflected in Help a Child’s Theory of Change.

Child development stages
There are different stages in child development. Within CCCD programs, Help a Child distinguishes four stages: early childhood, childhood, adolescence and young adults (also referred to as youth). In each of these stages, children and youngsters have to learn scpecific skills and competences, within all four development domains.
