All children have the right to be protected. Unfortunately, almost ¾ of children between 2 and 4 years in the whole world (around 300 million), experience psychological aggression and/or physical punishment by their caregivers at home. Around 15 million adolescent girls between 15 and 19 years have experienced forced sexual intercourse or other forced sexual acts in their lifetime. (UNICEF, A familiar Face, Violence in the lives of Children and Adolescents, 2018).

Children worldwide from all socio-economic backgrounds, religions and cultures suffer violence, exploitation and abuse in their lives. Many more millions are at risk. We have the responsibility to prevent this as much as possible and to respond in an effective way in case abuse happened. Besides this we need to protect the reputation of our staff and organization.
